Set during World War II


What a great premise and story line. This is not something I would typically be drawn to, however the characters in this story were all very well developed and the fact that this is such a moving and powerful story really made this a book I can say I am glad I read. 


Allie must learn to survive and overcome. Even when her mother was alive she was strong and took care of her. She is such a strong girl. She is however very stubborn. She is young and dealing with grief which everyone deals with differently. 


There are definite undertones on Faith and this has a real religious feel to it. 



This is a heart-warming and oftentimes heart-breaking story, but overall great debut from Rachel Coker.
